Brent D. Coisman

Brent D. Coisman, 68, Green Bay, passed away Monday, May 15, 2017, at a Milwaukee hospital while surrounded by the love of his family following a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Born April 30, 1949, in Green Bay, he is the son of the late Roy and Lorraine (Molitor) Coisman. Brent is a graduate of Green Bay West High School, Class of ‘68. He faithfully served in the US Army, stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. Brent married Kay Dimmer on June 23, 1972, at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral. He had worked for 12 years with Gardner Denver before being employed with the Green Bay Public Schools serving as a utility worker. He retired in 2012, with nearly 30 years of dedicated service. Brent was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying duck hunting, fishing and deer hunting with his brothers, family and friends. Together, Brent and Kay loved traveling both in this country and Europe. He will be remembered for his friendly nature, making friends, laughing and telling stories. Brent enjoyed spending time in his workroom making various items from shelves, to decoys, to miniature ice shanties and boats.

Brent is survived by wife of 45 years, Kay; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Jeffrey Depper, Fate, TX and Beth and Lucas McAleer, Milwaukee; six grandchildren, Sophia, Joshua, and Caleb Depper, Emma, Claire and Brady McAleer; one sister, Janet (Joseph) Schmitt; two brothers, Ken “Chip” (Char) Coisman and Keith Coisman; mother-in-law, Dorothy Dimmer; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Ervin Dimmer; and a nephew, Todd Geurts.

Visitation at Malcore (West) Funeral Home, 1530 West Mason Street, Sunday May 21st from 4-9pm. Parish wake service, 7pm Sunday at the funeral home. Visitation continues Monday morning at St. Jude Church, 1420 Division Street, from 9:30am until the time of the funeral. Funeral mass, 11:30am Monday at church with Rev. Michael A. Thiel officiating. Full military honors will follow the mass.

Brent’s family extends a special thank you to the caring and dedicated nursing staff and gifted physicians of Froedert Memorial Hospital, Milwaukee.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established at the funeral home.
