Betty Blaha, 86, Green Bay, died peacefully, Monday, December 30, 2013, at Angels Touch in Ledgeview. Born in Sturgeon Bay, July 31, 1927, she is the daughter of the late Julius and Martha (Berg) Mikels. On January 22, 1955, she married Joseph “Joe” Blaha at St. Peter’s Church in Sturgeon Bay and he preceded her in death on May 10, 2013. Betty worked for several years at Paper Converting Machine Company. She enjoyed playing organ throughout her life in particular at St. Mark Lutheran Church and for friends. Betty loved spending time with family and friends as well as traveling with her husband, Joe and family.
Betty is survived by one son, Mark (Debra) Blaha, Sturgeon Bay; four grandchildren, Efrem (Kelly) Blaha, Amanda (Kyle) Campbell, both of Green Bay, Emily Blaha, Sturgeon Bay, and Kassie Blaha, Green Bay; one great granddaughter, Brynleigh Blaha; brothers, Robert (Marie) Mikels and Herbert Mikels both of Sturgeon Bay; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one son, Michael Blaha; and sister-in-law, Arlene Mikels.
Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home & Crematory, Monday (Jan. 6, 2014) from 3 p.m. until the time of the funeral. Funeral service 6:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Eric Hansen officiating. Burial at Bayside Cemetery in Sturgeon Bay.
