Albert L. “Abbie” Ullmer, 94, Bay Settlement, died peacefully, Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at home. Born in Isaar, May 14, 1919, he is the son of the late Henry and Gertrude (Hyke) Ullmer. Albert married the former Bernice Corsten at St. John the Baptist, Howard, on April 28, 1945, and she preceded him in death on February 26, 2003. Shortly after they were married the couple moved to Bernice’s grandfather’s farm in Bay Settlement where the couple farmed their entire lives. Albert also worked for Midwest Breeders Co-op as a technician. He was very proud of being a farmer and loved his grandson’s immensely. Albert was a longstanding member of Holy Cross Church, Bay Settlement.
Albert is survived by a son, Bill (Julie) Ullmer of New Franken; daughter, Mary Ullmer Bay Settlement; 2 grandchildren, Andy of Green Bay and Daniel of Hartford, CT; siblings, Emily Anderson of De Pere, Martha Sheedy of Flintville, and Margaret Adasiewicz of Pulaski; sisters-in-law Agnes Ullmer of Green Bay, Dorothy Ullmer of Anston, and Rita La Count of Sobieski; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; siblings, Frances (Tony) Cass, Mary (Robert) Orsi, Henry Ullmer, Stephen (Mary Rose) Ullmer, Jim Ullmer, Robert Ullmer, and infant siblings, Agnes, Dorothy, and Joseph; brothers-in-law, Ruel Anderson, Irvin Sheedy, John Adasiewicz, Reginald (Cecelia) Corsten, and Robert La Count.
